Content is the currency of the Internet – it is the normally unstructured information that has the memes and knowledge of us as individuals and as an organisation.
It is more than but also includes records of old and documents of the past. It contains our digital assets.
Content is read in context of a subject that interests us at any one point. Too much content presented results in "information overload". Presenting the right content at the right time to the right person is the key.
Who controls our content, controls the knowledge that is represented to us. The channels of delivery holds worth that is higher then the cost of the content itself; but the channel itself has no worth without content.
A portal delivers content in a personalised way to an individual or to other consumers.
I leave this thought – are applications content?
